ASPPA sponsors an examination series for actuaries to certify their professional competence in actuarial and consulting aspects of pensions. These examinations include advanced actuarial practice, financial and fiduciary aspects of qualified plans, and advanced pension consulting.

By completing the FSPA requirements, candidates establish that they are both Enrolled Actuaries with proven pension analytical skills and that they are qualified to provide actuarial services and consulting for all plan types.

Required Exams

• Retirement Plan Fundamentals-2 (RPF-2)
• Financial & Fiduciary Aspects of Qualified Plans (C -3)
• Advanced Retirement Plan Consulting (C-4)
• Advanced Actuarial Practice (A-4)
• Examination Waivers

Enrolled Actuaries are given credit for ASPPA’s RPF-1, DC-1, DC-2, DC-3 and DB exams for the purposes of obtaining ASPPA credentials.
